You can do so much more than make hot chocolate with our Hot Chocolate Balls. Here are some of our favorite recipes
Hot Chocolate Balls Pudding
Prep/Cook time: 3 minutes
Servings: 1 (approx. 7 oz pudding)
Equipment:
Microwave safe bowl, mug or measuring cup, minimum 12 oz capacity to prevent boil over
Spoon for mixing
Ingredients:
1 Hot Chocolate Ball, any flavor
6 oz whole milk, divided into 4 oz and 2 oz (other milk can be used, but pudding will not be as thick)
1 Tbsp Corn Starch
Directions:
- Unwrap the Hot Chocolate Ball and place along in a microwave safe bowl/measuring cup.
- Microwave the ball by itself for 20-30 seconds to soften the ball.
- Add 4 oz of milk to the cup and put it back in the microwave for 45-60 seconds.
- While waiting, combine 2 oz of milk with 1 Tbsp of cornstarch in a separate cup and stir to make a slurry. (Just mix until all the cornstarch is mixed into the milk, no lumps should be present.)
- Remove from microwave and stir to combine. You now have concentrated hot chocolate. (Very nice by itself, you could stop here and just drink it with a nice churro or pastry.)
- Stir milk and cornstarch slurry into the hot chocolate. It will thicken slightly, stir until no lumps remain.
- Microwave cup 20-60 seconds MAXIMUM. If you overheat the thickened mixture, it will over flow. Watch the microwave, and stop when you see it bubbling. Stir until it starts to thicken. (Pro-tip: place a paper towel or small microwave safe plate under the bowl to make any clean up easier.)
- Let the pudding cool enough to handle the bowl, cover and refrigerate until well chilled. (The pudding will start getting runny after too long, so enjoy within 24 hours.)
